At British Community Hospital and Outpatient Clinic (BCHOC), our Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department delivers comprehensive, 24/7 urgent and emergency care.

Our A&E is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained emergency doctors, nurses, and support staff who provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment to patients with life-threatening conditions.

Always open

Our Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring that urgent care is available whenever it’s needed.

When to Use A&E

Our A&E is for serious or life-threatening medical emergencies. Using A&E responsibly allows our team to prioritize and treat the most critically ill patients. Please visit A&E immediately for any of the following:

  • Signs of a stroke: Facial drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech
  • Sudden confusion: Not knowing name, location, or time
  • Attempted suicide or self-harm
  • Severe difficulty breathing: Gasping, choking, or unable to speak
  • Seizures or convulsions
  • Extreme drowsiness or unresponsiveness
  • Bluish or greyish lips, tongue, or skin
  • Sudden, severe swelling: E.g., allergic reaction
  • Heavy, uncontrolled bleeding
  • Severe trauma or injury: Following a serious accident
  • Infants or children: Limp, floppy, or difficult to wake
When Not to Use A&E

For non-life-threatening conditions, please use our General Outpatient Clinics, which operate extended hours for convenience. These include:

  • Minor infections (cold, flu, earache)
  • Mild fever, vomiting, or diarrhoea
  • Back pain, sore throat, mild headache
  • Minor injuries, cuts, or sprains
